Medium Voltage

MV Transformers

A medium-voltage distribution transformer or service transformer is a transformer type that provides the final voltage transformation in the electric power distribution system, stepping down the voltage used in the distribution lines to the level used by the customer.

Ring Main Unit

A ring main unit (RMU) is a complete, pre-fabricated set of switchgear enclosed in metal. It is specifically designed for use at the load connection points in a ring-type distribution network. The RMU consists of two switches that connect the load to the main conductors, and also incorporates either a fusible switch or a circuit breaker that branches off to provide medium voltage to low voltage (MV to LV) distribution transformer feeds.

Substation Equipment

A substation is a high-voltage electric system facility. It is used to switch generators, equipment, and circuits or lines in and out of a system. It also is used to change AC voltages from one level to another, and/or change alternating current to direct current or direct current to alternating current.
